Welcome to Befort Studios…..

My passion is art in any expression or form…. My number one love is Oil Painting,  but also love my photography.  I’ve just stumbled onto the photography field and consider myself a total amateur and learning.    

Now, Oil painting is another story…. Having studied with a European Master during my high school and college years  that instilled a great appreciation and gave me the skills to accomplish some award winning pieces.   Landscape is my love… we live in a beautiful country and the scenery is forever changing… one can’t help but enjoy it…  Trying to capture that beauty on canvas is my goal.

My Hubby and I moved to Alabama in 2006 and have decided to retire here.  The weather is good year around… no snow like our Northern homes of Nebraska and Kansas…. Hated the cold winters there…  We have lived in several states across the U.S. including California, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri and North Carolina… all due to transfers with our “day jobs” of Insurance Underwriters.   I believe it is the years spent as tourists in those areas that gave me the visions to recreate some of those scenes.

Befort Studios is just that…. A studio for art and learning.   We offer classes in the glazing methods of the masters… using modern mediums.   Once you paint with the glazing techniques we teach, you won’t go back to normal painting…. It captivates you and will elevate your paintings to a new level.   I have several private students who have achieved award winning paintings using this method.    Email us for information about classes.
